Material logistics in BSL-3/4 laboratories, incl. material transfer boxes with integrated gas generators

Each Laboratory requires a functional logistic concept. In early design stages all transfer possibilities must be preciously monitored, so a functional decision could be made what type a transfer system for people and material will be chosen. Regarding the international standards the requirements are stated very global and shift the responsibility to the architects and design engineers. Also aspects of decontamination should be considered. Especially the transfer is one of the most critical points regarding the biosafety of BSL-3/4 laboratories and each transfer system is an engineering answer on the specific demands.
